JUSTIN'S STORY
I'm 8-years-old, I'm given a clarinet, I play for 3 years...no music desire.
I'm 11-Years-old, I'm given a guitar, I play for 4 years...nope.
I'm 15-years-old, I go to my sister's piano, and I am instantly awesome...nope!
Music did not come easily to me. This made me more understanding of other's who struggle with music. It took a lot of time and consistency to be able to make an instrument sound good. I also really needed the guidance of experienced players to get me where I needed to be. These players grew in me a real respect and adoration for music theory. However, the desire towards performing just wasn't there. There was something missing.
What was I missing?
You see, I am a teacher at heart. My first time teaching something I was 14 years old and got my first taste. When I was 17, I was asked to teach a family friend's daughters both piano and guitar. I got to watch someone else feel the passion of playing a song she wanted to learn. I was hooked!
The feeling I get when a student earns the ability to play that song they've always wanted is exhilarating. The moment I see a child desire to play an instrument is unforgettable for me. This is it for me. I love to lead someone from the valley of frustration to the peak of musical performance.
